Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro predicts that in 2021, great success awaits the cryptocurrency in the country,
and the government-issued Petro token (PTR) will experience its rebirth thanks to the full digitalization process,
which will transform the economy over the next 12 months.
Maduro has announced to stimulate economic recovery using popular cryptocurrency assets and blockchain technology.
He added that Caracas will seek to provide advanced functionality to the Patria cryptocurrency platform, which allows Venezuelans to receive cryptocurrency remittances from abroad.
In addition, this year, the government will provide digital payment tools for public transport and merchants.
