The creators of the statue say it is the world’s first statue dedicated to the mysterious creator of the cryptocurrency Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym of the inventor or inventors of bitcoin, whose identity is unknown.
The sculpture was unveiled at a technology park in the Hungarian capital Budapest, which also houses a monument to Apple founder Steve Jobs.
The Nakamoto statue features a simple face wrapped in a bronze hooded sweatshirt marked with the Bitcoin logo. It is also heavily polished to make it reflective, like a mirror in which viewers can see themselves.
